Innovative products are a fundamental part of Kymos Pharma Services’ service portfolio. The company staff is specifically trained to accept the challenge posed by such activity – they have a wide experience in researching and developing this type of drugs.
Regarding innovative product research, Kymos’ credentials refer to having worked with a wide range of drugs of quite diverse chemical structures (within the field of small molecules and peptides) belonging to different therapeutic classes: antineoplastics, antiinflammatories, antiasthmatics, antiinfectious, vitamins, analgesics, anticoagulatory agents, neuroprotective agents, antidiabetics, antilipemics, hormonal contraceptives, etc. Our company have also developed a quite significant activity related to biomarker determination, such as steroidal hormones involved in several types of hormone-dependent cancers.
In the field of the development of new analytical methodologies for innovative products, Kymos have a deep knowledge of the physico-chemical properties of the molecules, that enables them to expound the mechanisms of degradation, to identify potential impurities, and study in depth the stability of both active principles and finished products. We also perform stability studies of the new drugs on various biological matrices of different animal species in which the preclinical and clinical ADME studies are performed.
Ever since its establishment, Kymos have been responsible for the analytical part of various new drug research and development projects, from the first pharmacokinetic and toxicokinetic (PK/TK) assays on different animal species through the first administration to humans (Phase I clinical studies). Kymos have also participated in pharmacological screening projects for evaluating candidates, primarily from the absorption and metabolism viewpoint.
